The Relais receives the Environmental Management Label Green Key
We are proud to announce that our house was awarded the Green Key for the quality of its environmental management.

During the validation visit, inspectors were particularly impressed by the implementation of the following:
A system for recovering rainwater from an old tank centenary of 100 cubic meters, buried beneath the courtyard. Thus, all the flowerbeds and saplings are watered throughout the year in drop by drop with water recovery.
By cons, lawns are not watered to prevent excessive water consumption.
A heat pump air / water heats all the inhabited parts of the hamlet.
Two wood stoves, one for heating the meeting room facilities and another for heating the day part of our housing. The wood logs are directly coming from behind our property.
Motion sensors that manage lighting in all indoor areas and outdoor pathways.
Timers, including the sauna, which avoid forgetting switching off equipments after use.
We also tested and included grandmothers’ tips and tricks, like putting chestnuts in the cabinets to replace advantageously any insecticide ...
Since last year, we started planning a park surrounding a portion of the hamlet with the help of Remi Marcotte, landscape architect.
We’ll talk soon for each zone, defined as a standalone theme garden planted with old regional species.
Of course, we now produce our own compost by recycling organic waste from the garden, our kitchen and that of our guest apartments.
This is another way to inform and involve our guests daily in respect of this environment we all want to save !
We also participate in local associations. Thus, Jean-Luc has created the first Slow Food Convivium of Poitou-Charente, the Convivium de Segonzac en Grande Champagne
What Green Key label is
The Green Key is the first international environmental label for ecological tourist accommodation created in Denmark in 1994 and currently operating in 60 countries on five continents.
This program has been developed in France for over 10 years, always with the primary objective to develop environmental education in greater numbers.
Environment and ecology are becoming a priority for the future of our planet and its occupants and vacations are a privileged period to worry about in a relaxed atmosphere.
Each accommodation that receives the label is over from this awareness among its guests, employees and the community where it is installed.
